There are strong connections between movement, energizing activities, breaks, and improved cognition. Movement is a driving force in learning, memory and motivation. Because movement is a part of our human makeup, it influences our every action. It is essential to utilize various movement techniques to support the way students learn. Molly King, a dance and certified yoga instructor from The Étude Group Schools, will engage participants in an interactive movement-based session, providing specific movement strategies to implement in their K - 12 classrooms. The session will reference the research from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's movement and learning program.

Today's session will connect to a session the same presenters are offering on Friday. Friday's session will connect the movement techniques to classroom application.
