A Model for a PBL Community-Based Science Course

Join this session where students will present a model for their project based learning biology class. The focus is on authentic application of science skills and knowledge in their community. These students engage science professionals and other science students while participating in science competitions and conferences. Students track their progress towards mastery of science skills and content in a gradual release model for personalized learning. Some example projects you will learn about are: Wisconsin Water Action Volunteers, Modeling a Protein Story, WInSTEP, and the students' planetarium show.
