STEM to STEAM to STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math). To be prepared for the 21st century high-tech jobs, you will need to read, and read a lot. We must remember that the message underlying all of these acronyms is the importance of integration - of recognizing that nothing exists in a vacuum. We belong in an age where traditional barriers are disappearing: between disciplines, between academia and industry, and between nations. We don’t have to teach kids to be creative, they already are. We just have to stop assessing and start allowing the creativity to shine through.
