Create a Film Festival to Engage Young Writers

Join these presenters to learn about their first annual schoolwide film festival (grades 1-5, plus alumni). You will learn strategies to start your own class and/or school film festival. Ideas will be shared for involving staff, community members, and parents. All documentation developed for the festival process (e.g., writing strategies, information letters, permission forms, writing/filming rubrics, jury selection, media promotion, and event coordination) will be provided to particpants. Numerous apps and processes students used in their film production will be highlighted (e.g., green screen, stop-motion, live acting, voice recording, film editing).
