There are strong connections between movement, energizing activities, breaks, and improved cognition. Movement is a driving force in learning, memory and motivation. Because movement is a part of our human makeup, it influences our every action. It is essential to utilize various movement techniques to support the way students learn. Two teachers from the Elementary School for the Arts and Academics will give an overview of the research behind movement and learning and provide an interactive session on specific movement strategies that anyone can implement in their classrooms. The session will reference the research from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's movement and learning program.
