Culture Building Breakout Session 2: Defining your culture so school is not just a building

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Creating a school culture needs to be more than an activity, specific game, teambuilding moment, or monthly topic on character traits. School culture is built 180 days each year with your students. Shifting school culture toward student ownership, accountability, and responsibility involves examining the big picture. Where the atmosphere, relationships, and values of your school are lived and breathed by each of your students each day all year. Join the staff of Wildlands School in examining the essentials of a scaffolding system that develops a sound, cohesive, positive student-centered culture. We will examine elements of a philosophy that transforms the way students view school.  Participants will have the opportunity to share, explore, and think about building upon their current culture to enhance a lifelong love of learning and the ability for students to follow their passions and be in charge of their school experience. Be prepared to examine your current school / classroom culture and plan for the next steps you and your students feel are important.
