Rebecca J. Blink, Ph.D. has been an educator for over 20 years as a classroom teacher, a District Reading Specialist, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and a District Data Manager. She has masters’ degrees in reading education and educational administration and received her Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in May of 2005. In 1999, Dr. Blink began her quest for valid and reliable data in relation to student achievement in order to better service the students from the district in which she works. Finding district-level school improvement frameworks very limited in this area, Dr. Blink developed her own Data-Driven Instructional System (DDIS) model to assist school districts with school improvement planning through her dissertation work at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Her dissertation entitled How do K-12 School Districts Design Data-Driven Systems and Utilize Those Systems to Improve Student Achievement, was published in 2005. Dr. Blink is also the author of Data-Driven Instructional Leadership (2007) and Leading Learning for Digital Natives (2015) published by Eye on Education in 2007; both published by Eye on Education Routledge Publishing. As the founder of Data-Driven Instructional Solutions, LLC (www.ddisolutions.net), Rebecca thoroughly enjoys helping schools and district across the country as they plan and implement data-driven instructional systems. In 2012, Rebecca happily joined Compass Learning as an Account Executive serving the state of Wisconsin and continues to foster her mission to improve student achievement for all students by consulting with school districts in the areas of data and technology. A Wisconsin native, Rebecca is an avid supporter of Wisconsin sports teams including the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers and of course, the Wisconsin Badgers!
